The unrivalled on site facilities include:
Trepidarium
The trepidarium is part of an ancient Roman tradition and was the first dry warm room in the Roman thermal bath. The temperature in the trepidarium is about 37°C to 40°°C and is heated by a stove in the middle of the room. The revitalizing bath is perfect for the stimulation and strengthening of the immune system while the gentle radiant heat enables healthy relaxation. A peaceful bath suffused with warm lights and soft music.
Herbal Bath
A wooden aromatic bath with an electric heater of 85°C to 100°C. It provides the perfect combination of water, steam and aromatics, which accentuate the effect of the ordinary dry sauna. The aromatic sauna is based on the natural therapeutic effect of aroma therapy on the whole body.
Steam Bath
With air temperature of about 40°C to 50°C and 100% humidity the steam bath is equipped with an aroma spreading and sound system. The steam bath is used for weight loss procedures as well as for metabolic improvement. It has a mild, pleasant and relaxing therapeutic effect. The aroma system generates additional positive emotions by releasing pine, lavender and spearmint fragrances into the air. The gentle music in the steam bath creates a feeling of peace.
Turkish Bath
The Turkish bath has 100% air humidity and the temperature ranges between 60°C and 70°C. These temperatures are reached due to heaters in the seats, the walls and the floor. It has all the advantages of the steam bath and in addition it has a fairytale Oriental design, which creates a magical experience. This feeling is enhanced by the effect of the night sky, the soft lights that slowly grow brighter and fade in turn, the tender music and the appropriate fragrances.
Walk Therapy
Walk therapy or Kneipp cures are named after the German priest and hydro-therapist Sebastian Kniepp. The Kniepp basin, located in the central part of the Wellness Centre is a wonderful place for relaxation, walk or mere contemplation from the benches around. It consists of several basins full of hot and cold water in sequence and functions as a path-to-health as the visitor wades in them consecutively. Slow walking from one basin into the other brings together the simulating effects of both hot and cold water. The contrasting water temperatures improve blood circulation and stimulate metabolism, attenuate current pains and provide a pleasant and relaxing hydro massage for the feet.
Reflexology Basins
These feet basins are located in close proximity to the combined steam bath. Dipping ones feet in warm bubbling water is the ideal preparation for entering the sauna. It makes you feel relaxed, refreshed and revitalised. The warm air and the water in the reflexology basins regulate blood pressure and stimulate the immune system. This therapeutic procedure has a strong positive impact on the mind.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy uses the natural methods of treatment that have proved their efficiency for many centuries and are high valued nowadays too. Many healers in ancient Egypt, China, Tibet and Rome relied on the curing effects of herbs in their various applications. Today aromatherapy is a modern method of treatment where the healing qualities of herbs are used depending on their fragrances. Scientific research proves that most aromatic plants contain bactericidal components which are capable of purifying the air and destroying the disease-causing bacteria. Aromas cause a surge of liveliness and strength.
Rasual therapy
Rasual Therapy is a combination of dry and moist steam procedures with mud. After a short shower the body is covered with specially prepared mud. The pleasant warmness and the relatively low humidity allows the mud to soon dry on the body. During the procedures the skin releases toxins intensively. Later the cubicle is filled gradually with steam and extracts of aromatic herbs, the humidity of the air increases and the mud turns moist again. In this way, it can be easily removed and a peeling effect is achieved. Temperature rises from 38°C to 50°C and humidity is up to 80%. It is recommended that the stay in the cubicle should last about 30 minutes.
Spa and Thalassotherapy
The term 'THALASSO' comes from the regenerating force and energy of the sea. The word is of Greek origin and means 'sea water' and 'thalassic therapy' means healing with sea water, salts and weeds. During the fourth century B.C. the Egyptians cured Plato with sea water. This made the great philosopher cry out: "The Sea washes all sufferings of many away". Hippocrates recommended treatment with warmed sea water and used its antibiotic effect. In 1897 the French scientist Rene Quinton proved for the first time the organic relationship between blood plasma and sea water. It was he who made the following comparison: "the human organism is just a sea aquarium where several million cells float". Since then the healing qualities of sea water have been used successfully in rehabilitation and medical treatment due to their exceptional regenerating, refreshing and overall strengthening effect on the human body.
Finnish Sauna
The regular use of a Finnish sauna is the ideal way to fight stress and purify the body from accumulated toxins. Cyclic sauna treatments and cooling showers stimulate the vital functions of the organism, increase its resistance to diseases, regulate blood pressure and strengthen the functioning of the heart. The Finnish sauna has a positive cleansing impact on the skin leaving it soft, purified and rejuvenated.
