The climate of Bulgaria enjoys regular Mediterranean temperatures of
80°F on the Black Sea coast, with over 1700 hours of sunshine between
May and October.

Holidays are offering holidays on the Black Sea Coast. In
2003, 159,000 British tourists visited Bulgaria, in 2004 the figure
was in excess of 250,000 and this year over 300,000 British tourists
are expected.
- Direct Flights are available to Sofia and flight times are
approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. Direct Flights to Varna
and Bourgas are available from regional airports throughout the UK
from May. Wizz Air, the low cost airline is offering flights to Sofia
from London via Budapest from September 18th 2005, from £13.50
one-way excluding taxes.
- A member of NATO in 2004, Bulgaria has been invited to join
the European Union in 2007. The country has taken huge steps
to stabilize it's economy and Foreign Direct Investment has gone up
steadily over the last decade.
- Holiday watchdog, the Association of British Tourist Agencies
(ABTA) cites Bulgaria as the fastest growing tourist destination in
Europe. Bulgaria has become Europe’s most popular new
tourist destination and the amount of Brits travelling to Bulgaria
was up 66.3% this year – more than double the expected numbers.
- Thompson Holidays, First Choice and Going Places all said
Bulgaria was in their top most popular package holidays for 2004.
They anticipate an even greater surge in Bulgaria's popularity
in 2005. More than 3.5 million tourists visited the country in 2003
– an 18 per cent growth on the previous year. People are attracted
by the 220km of unspoilt coastline with blue flag beaches, an average
of 8 hours sunshine per day from May to October and almost 300 sunny
days per year. Temperatures average 26°C, that’s 80°F
in old measurements. It’s obvious why many people are turning
away from more established resorts like Spain and Portugal and embracing
the beauty of Bulgaria!

Air Travel to Bulgaria
There are three international airports in Bulgaria and seven
domestic airports. The international airports are in the capital Sofia,
and Bourgas and Varna, which are located on the Black Sea coast.
There is a new terminal under construction at Sofia Airport, which
will be able to handle 5 million passengers per year from 2006 up from
2.5 million in 1997. Flights are available from April to September to
the coast from 19 UK airports flying to Varna and Bourgas. The government
are also investing €80 millions euros in the Varna And Bourgas
airports to cope with the 4 million tourists they expect in 2007.
Wizz Air, the largest CEE based low-fare, low-cost airline, will be
operating flights from London to Sofia via Budapest from 18th September
2005 from £13.50 one way excluding taxes. The Wizz Air fleet comprises
six Airbus A320 new aircraft and it has bases in Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk
in Poland and Budapest in Hungary. From these four base airports Wizz
Air flies to 17 European destinations on 32 routes.
