Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea, declared independance from the union of Serbia and Montenegro on the 3rd of June 2006. Bordering Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Albania, it is located just across the sea from the Italian coastline.

The main tourism areas within Montenegro are:

  • Kotor
    The old port of Kotor is surrounded by an impressive city wall built by the House of Nemanjic is very well preserved.
  • Budva
    The coastal area around Budva, is the centre of Montenegro's tourism and is well known for its sandy beaches, diverse nightlife, and beautiful examples of Mediterranean architecture.
  • Tivat
    Tivat, located in the central part of the Boka Kotorska bay has a lot of interesting and attractive destinations even though it is a newly developing town in the region.

Montenegro Real Estate is still in it's infancy compared to the more reknowned local neighbours such as Bulgaria, Croatia and even nearby Greece. It is one of Europe's newest countries, and according to many in the industry is poised to become the latest property hotspot. Prices of Property in Montenegro have risen 20% in the last year, so now is definitely the time to invest.

The climate within on the coast generally enjoys mild winters and hot summers, with temperatures ranging from 11-13°C in winter to 25-30°C in summer. More inland, temperatures can vary rapidly and offer a temperate climate with temperatures often getting no higher than 15°C.
