Kotor is a major tourist destination within Montenegro. Thousands of tourists each year flock to Kotor, as it has one of the best preserved medieval old towns in the Balkan Peninsular, plus a fantastic stretch of coastline.

Kotor is located along one of the most beautiful bays in the Adriatic, sea, within the southern fjord or the Boka Kotorska bay. The Boka Kotorska bay has recently been given the name, the Bride of the Adriatic.

The old city of Kotor is a UNESCO listed world heritage site, with its numerous monuments and medieval architecture. Kotor was under the rule of the Republic of Venice between the 15th and 18th Centuries, and the architecture within the city shows this, with very strong Venetian influences.

Kotor is now a major tourist destination. It's old town is a major tourist attraction and with the number of pubs and cafes concentrated within the old town, nightlife is a big pull within the city.

The town is relatively small, with a population of around 14,000. Although there are no sandy beaches, the Budva Riviera is only half an hour drive away and the beaches have been voted amongst the finest 5 beaches in the world by Travel Agency Professionals.

As you walk through the town, you can feel the ongoing tradition of Kotor which always seems to impress and entertain visitors, inspiring them to come back and visit again.

The region has an enormous potential for tourism and investment growth, with frequent charter flights during the holiday season. Tivat Airport is only 5km away, and there are many charter planes landing on a daily basis during the holiday season.

There has been a reported 50 per cent rise in prices over the past year as apartments around the bay have been purchased for less than €60,000.
