Bansko
Bansko is the newest of the Bulgarian ski resorts and it is situated at the foothills of one of the most beautiful mountains, Pirin, which has three peaks towering above 2,900 metres. Bansko combines the qualities of an old Bulgarian town and a new ski resort, boasting many historic monuments and traditional museums. This region is also famous for its cuisine and folklore.
Over the last two years, fifty million euros has been invested in Bansko, thirty million in the ski facilities alone. This is reflected in the number and quality of ski lifts including an 8-man Doppelmayer Gondola cable car, five 4-seat lifts of the latest Doppelmayer models, one 3-seat lift by Poma, 6 drags and 10 baby drags.
